Typical Projects
Most projects are undertaken with
non-disclosure agreements between the client and Hardesty Enterprises.
Therefore, all confidential information has been removed from the following
project specifications. Upon request Hardesty Enterprises can provide
contact information with the client for reference purposes.
Technical and Market Evaluation
Statement of Work
Evaluate the technical, safety and
economic feasibility of performing vascular brachytherapy using a miniature
X-Ray tube developed by a start up company requesting funding from Guidant
Inc.
Evaluate the technical approach of the
company relative to the specification.
Provide a feasibility report on all known
works in progress.
Results obtained:
Mr. Hardesty recruited two physicists,
who along with Mr. Hardesty completed the project over a period of about six
weeks. The client was satisfied with our findings and invested in the
company after recommended deficiencies were corrected. Hardesty
Enterprises then performed a follow up project for Frazier and Company, a
venture capital firm who provided additional funding. The start up firm
now called Xoft Microtube Inc. recently announced "the successful
development of a 1 mm diameter, high dose rate, x-ray source. The source
with its extremely flexible cable can be used in a wide range of clinical
applications. The initial application will be for Intra Operative
Radiation Therapy (IORT) of surgical margins after tumor resection."
Business Planning
Statement of work
Develop a strategy and business plan for
flat panel X-Ray sensors for Varian Medical Systems.
Results Obtained
This project has evolved into a close
working relationship between Mr. Hardesty and Varian to define a business plan, strategic
partners, research directions and initial products and customers. The
client has implemented a number of Mr. Hardesty's recommendations and the
project has been extended for multiple years.
Market Evaluation
Statement of Work
Determine the market potential for a
proposed product combining hyperthermia and brachytherapy.
Determine the regulatory requirements
which must be met to allow commercial sales.
Results Obtained:
A survey was conducted of known medical
doctors and physicists who are potential users of the new technology, the
results of this summary along with an analysis of the regulatory requirement
were presented to the client.
Our client's management took appropriate
action based on our findings.
